Grand Theft Auto Online, the highly anticipated multiplayer portion of GTA 5, goes live today. Rockstar confirmed that the GTA 5 Title Update to enable GTA Online access has been rolling out all morning on PSN and Xbox LIVE across territories worldwide.
Last week, the studio warned of of technical issues that might arise from the demand of the eagerly awaited mode, and today they posted a similar status. "As mentioned last week, you should expect that there will be some technical teething issues in the early days of a new online experience especially one as massive as GTA Online," Rockstar wrote.
Rockstar has created a support page for the GTA Online launch status where they will provide updates with the status of issues that they are currently aware of and looking into. So far they've noted these particular issues:
While frustrating, we can't say that we didn't expect it. At least Rockstar has been honest with everyone from the get-go. We've attempted to log in to GTA Online and the results have been mixed. Most of the time we're stopped by connection issues, but the one time we did manage to get on our mini-map wouldn't load and entering a mission froze the game.
Keep it locked into GameZone and we'll keep you updated with any other information Rockstar provides.
