GTA Online update adds ‘Drop Zone’ Adversary mode, customizable cars

Race for control of a small plot of land in Drop Zone

With all of the excitement surrounding the launch of Tom Clancy's The Division beta today, it's easy to understand if you've taken a break from Grand Theft Auto Online. In any case, Rockstar Games has released a new update to GTA 5's online mode.

The new update, available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, adds Drop Zone, a new "fast and chaotic" Adversary Mode that sees teams of paratroops jump from Cargobobs hovering high above and race to seize control of a small designated patch of land for two minutes.

Drop Zone supports four teams and up to 16 players. It's "fast, chaotic, and prone to huge swings in fortune." The first team to hold the drop zone for a total of two non-continuous minutes wins. There are five Drop Zone maps that can be found at Pillbox Hill, Richman College, Elysian Island, the Mirror Park cul-de-sac and the Sisyphus Theater.

In addition to Drop Zone, today's update also adds two new customizable versions of the Karin Sultan and Bravado Banshee. Both of these vehicles can be transformed into wide-body racers at Benny's Original Customs.
