Guitar Hero, DJ Hero Getting DLC Thanks to Fan Support

Fan support really does go a long way. After the recent closure of several Activision subsidiaries and the surprising announcement that there would be no further Guitar Hero or DJ Hero content after February, fans of the two music series expressed their disappointment and shock at the death of both franchises. The Guitar Hero and DJ Hero Twitter feeds recently revealed some good news for gamers who were let down by the news: More DLC will be coming to both games soon.

The official Guitar Hero Twitter page reported: “We hit 3 MILLION Facebook fans! In thanks for your continued support, we’ll be releasing some new DLC. Details soon!” Meanwhile the DJ Hero Twitter announced the following: “Thanks for being a member of our community. In recognition of your continued support, we’ve decided to release more DLC! Details soon!”

Though the long-term futures of both the Guitar Hero and DJ Hero brands are still uncertain, the announcement that more details will arise is definitely promising. Activision appears to have decided to give the music games a longer life, though how long remains to be seen. It’s going to be interesting waiting for both franchises to report on their status after the upcoming DLC launches.
