Sony Online Entertainment is "nearly done" with H1Z1's list of early access content, company president John Smedley teased over the weekend.
While it's been a while since we've heard anything regarding an early access date for the post-apocalyptic, zombie-survival MMO, Smedley took to Twitter to update fans.
When we last spoke to SOE about the status of H1Z1's early access, we were told by technical director Tom Schenck that it won't be until the've "got it to the type of acceptable quality level where the game's ready to go."
Most of the work has seemingly been on getting the core systems in place and to the point where they are "somewhat reliable." Game Designer Adam Clegg admitted back in August that the game could've been released in early access a long time ago, but it wouldn't have been in a state where people could play and provide valuable feedback.
“We need player feedback,” he added. “We want to make sure it's an early access game where people are playing it every day and we're getting the feedback we need. So we can't release a game or product until we feel like it's an MMO standard of early access," Clegg said at the time.
Earlier this month, it was speculated that we could get an early access date for H1Z1 possibly before Christmas. With PlanetSide 2's PS4 beta on the way though, it might be risky to launch two major titles at once, even though they each have two totally different teams.
