If you’d just told me there was a game called Daggerdale coming out I’d probably assume Redneck Rampage was making a comeback. However the truth is much more promising – Dungeons & Dragons: Daggerdale is a new four-player action-RPG coming to XBLA, PSN, and PC in Spring 2011.
There isn’t much to say about the game just yet, and the trailer below pretty much speaks for itself. Beyond that, publisher Atari and developer Bedlam have this to say about the game’s premise:
“Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale centers on the desperate struggle to defeat the evil Rezlus and his Zhentarim in their attempt to invade and conquer the Dalelands. Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale is an engaging multi-player experience that introduces a riveting narrative and treacherous new characters. Players are charged with the task of restoring order to Nentir Vale by unlocking the secrets of the Mines of Tethyamar, defeating the evil within the treacherous Tower of the Void, leading to the final confrontation with Rezlus himself.”
It’s typical fantasy role-playing to be sure, but a decent co-op action-RPG could certainly fill a void on the more Torchlight and Diablo-lacking platforms.
