Half-Life 2: Episode 3 was announced 10 years ago, still nothing

The emotional rollercoaster that is Half-Life will never end, not since Gabe Newell announced Half-Life 2: Episode 3 on May 24, 2006.

We have seen Half-Life 3 go up for fake pre-oders, text filed for Half-Life 3 have appeared in DOTA 2's code and the Portal VR demo files. The game has been teased and has had fans speculating its release for the last ten years. Unfortunately, development rumors on the game a have been shot down on multiple occasions.

Even other developers have shot down rumors for the game. For every bit of hope fans have had, they have been shot down. Without further ado, I present you Gabe Newell, the head honcho at Valve, announcing Half-Life 2: Episode 3 in 2006.

If you still have hope, let me be the one to snuff it by reminding you that the writer behind all of the Half-Life games retired from Valve in January after 18 years of servitude.
