Halo 4 brings back The Flood in multiplayer mode

The parasitic Flood will be making a return in Halo 4, 343 Industries' Frank O'Connor revealed. Fortunately, those pesky vermin will only appear in the multiplayer portion of the game, meaning you won't have to deal with them during the Halo 4 campaign.

The mode, appropriately called "Flood", supports 10 players, two of which start off as infected. The two infected are on a mission to spread their disease to the rest of the players. The eight remaining players must stop the disease from spreading in order to succeed.

The mode is similar to that seen in previous Halo titles as well as the Infected custom game mode in Call of Duty. Like this mode, the Infected randomly chooses one player to be infected and hunt out the remaining survivors.

Are you excited for the new mode?
