Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn — Episode 1 released

The first episode of the eagerly awaited live-action series, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, was released today marking the beginning of what looks to be a very entertaining weekly web mini-series. Over the past few weeks we were teased with clips from this series, which tells the story of how Master Chief inspired a young UNSC cadet, Thomas Lasky, who will eventually become a leader aboard the UNSC Infinity Spacecraft inthe upcoming game Halo 4; but today, we can finally watch the first episode in its entirety.

With five episodes planned, this is just the beginning of Lasky's journey. We learn that Lasky is a bit stubborn when it comes to following orders and his antics cost the Hastati Squad — the newest batch of freshman cadets at the UNSC's Corbulo Academy of Military Science — from achieving its objective.

Below is the official description from the Halo Waypoint:

Thomas Lasky came to Corbulo Academy of Military Science with his mother and brother’s impressive military careers hanging over his head. Haunted by ghosts from his past, he has serious doubts about the war he’s expected to fight. As fellow cadet Chyler Silva tries to help him find his place at the academy, tensions with other squad members approach the breaking point.

Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn takes you back to the beginning of the human and Covenant war and leads directly into the events of Halo 4 which releases for Xbox 360 on November 6. A new episode of Forward Unto Dawn will debut every Friday on the Halo Waypoint website or Machinima Prime. At the conclusion of the series, each episode, roughly 15 minutes in length, will be collected, along with 15 minutes of additional footage, into a 90-minute feature film. Who knows, if the buzz surrounding this grows loud enough, maybe we'll see Halo finally make its way to the big screen.
