Halo: Spartan Assault, the top-down action shooter previously available on Windows 8 devices, will be coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One. 343 Industries in conjunction with Vanguard Games announced it will be available worldwide for digital download this December. Pricing has not been announced, but the previous versions sold for $6.99.
Taking place between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4, Spartan Assault — over the course of 30 missions — explores the first of the Spartan Ops program and dives deeper into the backstory of the Human-Covenant wars. You'll play the game through two characters: Commander Sarah Palmer and Spartan Davis.
The console versions will add a new online co-op mode as well as the Operation Hydra expansion which sees you encounter the Flood for the first time.
