Remember the current matchmaking update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection? The one that was just recently delayed? Well, it's almost done!
343 Industries is reportedly "happy with the progress" on the update, which has seen "significant progress" made on "big and small issues." While it still doesn't have a release date, the update is in "its final stages of testing and bug testing." The developer did promise, however, that the next time they talk about the status of the update, they'll have a definitive timeframe.
In addition to update news, 343 Industries also addressed player concerns as to why neither SWAT nor Team Snipers have Halo 3 variants included. According to the developer, "this is due to a Halo 3-specific issue regarding non-default map variants that we're working to fix."
"Once resolved, custom map variants (tournament maps, maps with specific on-map weapons, Forge maps, etc.) will be included into permanent and featured playlists."
Once the new update hits, it will focus on three major points: matchmaking search time (hit-registration), match search success, and lobby/party functionality.
