One of my fondest memories of Halo is getting together with friends and hooking our consoles up together for LAN multiplayer. Some have wondered if those days are gone with the continued growth of online multiplayer, but the folks at 343 Industries haven't forgotten.
It was confirmed today that Halo: The Master Chief Collection will indeed have LAN support. You'll still need an active internet connection, though, just so the Xbox One consoles can contact Xbox Live. That connection, however, won't affect your LAN gameplay.
343 also announced that several professional Halo players, including Mason Cobb and GH057ayame, will be streaming Halo: The Master Chief Collection next week on the official Halo Twitch channel.
Finally, for those that are unable to attend Gamescom next week still have a chance to grab some hands-on time with Halo 2: Anniversary's multiplayer. There will be a demo at PAX Prime next month.
Man, I sure now regret not going to PAX Prime.
