HBO Now available to Apple users next month

During Apple's conference today, which mostly centered around their iWatch and its surrounding details, they also dropped the bomb about HBO Now, a new HBO subscription service that won't require you to go through your cable or satellite company. Though unless you're an Apple user, you won't get access to it right away.

Apple device users with iPhones, iPads, iPods and Apple TVs will be able to subscribe to HBO Now for $14.99 a month, which will give them unbridled access to all of HBO's programming, including its original shows, as well as Hollywood hit movies.

Previously, HBO was accessible through HBO Go, an app that required its users to also have an active HBO subscription through their cable or satellite provider. Though it was a convenient app that allowed users to watch popular shows On Demand, it left those that had neither cable or satellite in the dark. Finally, it gets easier to cut the cord oonce and for all.

And hey, if you're skeptical of this new subscription plan, HBO is giving you the first 30 days completely free when you sign up through an Apple device. PRO TIP: Wait until April 12th, since that's when Game of Thrones premieres.

In another announcement today, Apple also dropped the price of Apple TV by 30 percent from $99 to a much more attractive $69.
