We finally have an answer as to whether or not Grand Theft Auto V's multiplayer, GTA Online, has Heists. As of today, the answer is yes. Heists are finally available in GTA V, and it only took a year and a half since the game originally released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Better late than never right?
The reveal from Rockstar came after the Achievements and Trophies were revealed yesterday.
GTA Online heists will allow for four-player co-op, with each player taking on specified roles at certain points in the mission to accomplish multiple objective's on the way to an epic finale. Should players successfully complete the heist, they will be rewarded handsomely. There are new vehicles, weapons and scenarios in Heist like: computer hacking, stealth infiltration, precision driving, aerial fighting, sniping, skydiving and more. In order to participate in the fun, the Heist leader will have to be rank 12 or higher in GTA Online and own a high-end apartment. You can read more about the structure of heists and how they will work in GTA Online here.
The update is available now on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live. It is a 4GB download on the PS4 and Xbox One, and a 1.2GB on the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Unfortunately PC players have to wait to get in on the fun (maybe that's a benefit though…that means they never had to experience the wait for Heists…).
