After weeks of EA Sports slowly revealing player ratings for Madden NFL 15, the developer has now shifted to its hocky franchise. Kicking things off, we've got the top five goalies in NHL 15. Admittedly, I know nothing about hockey. Whereas I was able to offer my opinion for the NFL player ratings, I'm pretty much clueless here so we'll leave it up to EA to justify the ratings.
Pekka Rinne – 91 Overall
2013-2014 stats: 10-10-3 record, 2.77 goals against average, .902 save percentage, 2 shutouts
Despite an injury plagued season, the big Fin just managed to crack the top five goalies in NHL 15. He gives the Predators a chance to win every time he is in-between the pipes, and has one of the league’s best glove hands – carrying a (90) Glove High rating.
Tuukka Rask – 92 Overall
2013-2014 stats: 36-15-6 record, 2.04 goals against average, .930 save percentage, 7 shutouts
Last year’s Vezina trophy winner has now proven himself to be one of the league’s elite goaltenders. He is well balanced, scoring high in Athletic ability and Reflex ratings.
Carey Price – 92 Overall
2013-2014 stats: 34-20-5 record, 2.32 goals against average, .927 save percentage, 6 shutouts
Montreal’s franchise goalie is just entering his prime, which is a scary thought for shooters in the Eastern Conference. Carey has an average rating of (90) in the Reflexes and Athletic ability category.
Jonathan Quick – 93 Overall
2013-2014 stats: 27-17-4 record, 2.07 goals against average, .915 save percentage, 6 shutouts
The former Conn Smythe winner and two time Stanley Cup champion has been one of the league’s top netminders for the past five years. Quick challenges shooters with (91) Aggressiveness – but uses his amazing Athletic ability with (91) Speed and Agility to get back into position.
Jonathan Quick – 93 Overall
2013-2014 stats: 33-24-5 record, 2.36 goals against average, .920 save percentage, 5 shutouts
‘The King’ wears the crown as the top goalie in NHL 15 with five stars in all 3 goalie attribute categories. It’s nearly impossible to beat him long the ice as Lundqivst carries a (92) rating for Stick Low, and Five Hole.
The only thing I know is that New York Rangers goalie Jonathan Quick is pretty darn good. 93 seems a little low to me. What do you think of the ratings?
