Here’s The Difference Between Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Wii U vs. Switch

The stats are in, we now know the technical differences between the Switch and the Wii U versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. IGN received a statement from Nintendo outlining the key changes between the two versions.

First of all, regardless of system, Breath of the Wild will release on March 3. Both games will run 30fps. The content of both games will be identical in terms of story, so every bit of the new world will be available regardless of platform.

Now here come the differences. The Switch version of Breath of the Wild will be rendered at 900p while the Wii U stays at 720p. The Switch also has "higher-quality environmental sounds." This improves things like the sounds of steps, water and other environmental features that can be expected to be found in an open world. That's pretty much it. Oh, the button prompts will obviously be different as well, considering the controllers look different.

The Wii U version will also require a 3GB install to combat slower load times, and as far as retail goes, there is no Special Edition of the game. But if you wanted the special edition of Breath of the Wild, wouldn't it make more sense to get the definitive version of the game anyway?
