Here’s what the new Pong looks like after 40 years

Atari is commemorating 40 historic years of the classic, tennis-style title Pong with a new mobile game.

Pong World is the winning entry in the 1st Pong Indie Developer Challenge, which took place early this year. The panel of judges included Nolan Bushnell, the founder of Atari and father of video games.

Players defeat opponents while collecting five paddle creatures: Shaggy, Chompers, Sir Bouncelot, Razzle, and Gnop. Pong World features four levels and three modes — Conquest, Survival, and Two-Player Battle. It's free to download on the App Store, where it already has a five-star rating based on 80 users.

You can also enter a contest to win a custom-modded Xbox 360 that resembles an Atari 2600 (pictured).
