Hideo Kojima being inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame

It has been announced that Hideo Kojima will be the 21st member inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) Hall of Fame. It will take place at the D.I.C.E. awards ceremony next month and his presenter is an interesting one.

Guillermo del Toro, who was working with Kojima on Silent Hills, will be the one to present him into the Hall. Martin Rae, the President of the AIAS commented on the induction by saying:

“Hideo Kojima’s career-defining works have shaped much of how the video game industry approaches cinematic storytelling and player engagement. As one of the most well-loved and well-respected designers of our time, it is a great honor for the Academy to induct him into our Hall of Fame. Hideo is a game creator whose eyes have always looked towards the future, and we look forward to his thoughts on the D.I.C.E. Summit stage.”

The announcement comes after a nasty and rather unprofessional public split between Kojima and Konami. Afterwards, Mr. Kojima signed on with Sony for a console exclusive game which will also come to PC. There hasn't been any other news on the game so far, but we will keep you updated as we hear more.

Just a guy lucky enough to talk about games with you fine people. "Don't ever tell anybody anything, when you do, you start missing everybody".
