We’ve had a lot of games about war. Call of Duty capitalizes on the cinematic, summer blockbuster nature of them. Battlefield takes a more realistic (as real as one can make a video game that has to appeal to tens of millions) approach. Halo is a fun, intergalactic take on war. And then there’s Totally Accurate Battle Simulator which is… not totally accurate.
This physics-based tactics game showcases numerous eras of warfare in a very fun, whacky way. Showcasing big battles and intimate sword combat, it’s hard to say it’s got the high-stakes tension of For Honor but it looks just as fun and exciting. You can get a taste of it in the trailer below.
Totally Accurate Battle Simulator features a campaign, sandbox mode, and a “never before seen insight into history” with a promise of much more content to come over time as well as a console version. Some of this content includes five more factions on top of the five currently available, a unit, faction, and battle creator, and a campaign creator.
The game is currently in early access on Steam for $14.99 with a console version planned upon the full release, the goal is to release the full version sometime within the next year as they continue to work on it.
Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is available now on Steam.
