While Suicide Squad begins making its release in theaters around the world, fans are petitioning to shut down the review aggregate site known as Rotten Tomatoes after a slew of bad reviews. Currently, the film is sitting at a 33% approval rating as a result of all the bad reviews.
To put this into perspective, the film has received 82 reviews from critics and of those reviews 55 are negative and 27 are positive. Suicide Squad is set to release on Friday, August 5th in North America, but has released in other territories. The film is still early in its release, but a petition saying that "people disagree with their reviews" has already sprung up.
The petition creator has expressed that they are aware the petition "definitely won't shut down the site," it's simply a method 'expressing their anger.' At the moment, the petition has around 13,440 signatures and it's unclear whether the signatures come from people who have seen the film or not.
Suicide Squad releases in theaters later this week, let's see whether or not reviews from critics hold true.
