House of Cards may not be dead yet as ‘hope of resuming production’ emerges

Kevin Spacey's sexual misconduct allegations seemed to be a death knell for House of Cards, a Netflix series that was nearing the end of its run anyway. Production on the final season has been on hiatus for the past several weeks, but a new letter sent out by Media Rights Capital (obtained by Deadline) to the cast and crew reveals that the company is still working with Netflix with "the hope of resuming production soon."

The letter details that employees will be paid an additional two weeks as the talks continue to move towards a resolution, a production schedule without Kevin Spacey. There is nothing definitive in the letter pointing to a date, but since the crew will be paid until December 8th in accordance with the letter, the company promises to provide an update before then.

Kevin Spacey's sexual misconduct allegations began when Star Trek: Discovery actor, Anthony Rapp accused the long-time Hollywood star of trying to force himself on him after a party in Spacey's Manhattan apartment. Rapp was only 14 at the time of the incident. Since then, Spacey's accuser list has grown to fifteen people.

More on this story as it develops.
