How next-gen consoles bring Assassin’s Creed 4’s open world to life

Ubisoft has released a brand new video for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, showing off the power of next generation consoles and what it brings to their open world adventure.

In the video, associate producer Sylvain Trotter highlights the next-gen technology that helps bring the world of Assassin's Creed 4 to life. He particularly focuses on the technologies used to create the Sea Engine and the realistic behavior of the ocean. He also touches on the breathtaking weather system, noting the individual rain particles and ripple shader. Other highlights include lighting, ship boarding, and dynamic 3D plants.

It's actually a really neat video for those looking to see just how your gaming experience will be enhanced on next-gen consoles. Just think, this is only the first game to be released on next-gen consoles. Imagine what Assassin's Creed will look like in a few years.
