Destiny's The Dark Below DLC released this week, and with it came a new level 30 raid on the Moon called Crota's End. While it's a level 30 raid, that doesn't mean players can't reap a couple of the rewards from it… without being level 30… and without having a group.
As of this writing, it is possible for solo players (even a level 28 like myself) to enter Crota's End and get the first chest in the raid. Here's how you do it.
When you enter the raid, stand in the circle and wait for the bridge to appear. When the new mission appears, run down the bridge and fall through the hole, taking you into the raid. You'll fall through darkness for a few seconds — don't be afraid. You'll land and be in a lit area with a path ahead of you. If you turn to your left, you'll see another path. Take that path to the wall ahead and follow the wall to the right where you'll come to a door. Go through that door and that's where the 1st chest spawns.
The chest won't always be there, so you'll have to go out and die to the enemies (it won't take long) so you can respawn and try it again. A good way to tell if the chest will be in there that spawn is to look above the door. If there's a yellow jewel lit, it's in there. If not, go die and hope it spawns there. It took me 20 tries, and other people 30 — but some people got lucky and got it on their first try.
I was rewarded with Radiant Energy, but some people have reported getting exotics.
