Good news everyone! Heart Machine, Develeper of the hit Indie Action RPG, Hyper Light Drifter, have announced the launch of a Beta for the game's local co-op mode. Apparently the developers were planning on including the mode with the final version of the game at launch, but due to time constraints, had to cut it.
Now the Developers have decided to take another crack at it, and the co-op mode is available to try right now but only until May 2nd. Once the beta is completed, the developers say they will compile and incorporate feedback before releasing the mode as an update for free.
Here's how to download the co-op Beta.
- Right click on Hyper Light in your Steam Library, then navigate to Properties > BETAS tab, click the drop down and select “coop”
- You’ll need at least one controller – Player 1 can use the keyboard and mouse while Player 2 uses a controller, or both can use separate controllers.
- To turn on co-op on, enter the pause menu, select “settings”, and the first option will be “Co-Op” to switch on or off.
Heart Machine has been hard at work continuing to support Hyper Light Drifter post-launch as feedback has caused the development team to carefully consider the game's incredible difficulty.
