Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity introduces two old ‘young’ friends

You'll never see them the same way as before

Nintendo has released a new trailer for the incoming Musou spin-off Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Fans of Breath of the Wild will immediately recognize two familiar faces who look very different in this prequel. Watch the trailer here!

A new trailer for the Breath of the Wild prequel spin-off Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has opened the doors on what the game’s interesting setting has to offer. Veterans of BOTW can look forward to meeting old acquaintances from Link’s most recent major outing in a never-before-seen way.

The highlight characters of today’s new trailer are Purah and Robbie. Both characters made their franchise debut in 2017’s Zelda Breath of the Wild and played rather important roles in the game’s story. As ancient technology researchers of the Sheikah race, both elderly figures won over players hearts.

Join the struggle that brought Hyrule to its knees. Learn more about Zelda, the four Champions, the King of Hyrule and more through dramatic cutscenes as they try to save the kingdom from Calamity. The Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity game is the only way to firsthand see what happened 100 years ago.

And in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity they are likely going to repeat that feat but in a very different manner. Since the game is set a whole 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild, Purah and Robbie are also 100 years younger which shows.

Gone are the elderly designs and instead we are greeted with rather young and fit redesigns of all friends. Purah in particular has an outgoing and charming personality which leads to a hilarious and cringeworthy moment with her sister in the trailer. While Robbie impresses with his younger buff self.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is slated to launch on the Nintendo Switch this November 20th.
