I don’t want to call Sonic anti-American, but he’s not in 3D in my eShop

It's hard to not feel jealous when you hear that 3D Sonic The Hedgehog is in the Nintendo 3DS eShop… but only in Japan. Sonic just won't be getting 3D treatment; the game also comes with some pretty cool features.

With 3D Sonic The Hedgehog, you can remap the buttons, have the option to use the Sonic 2 spin attack, switch between regular and CRT viewing modes and Genesis Model 1 and 2 audio, and adjust the stereoscopic 3D to emphasize depth or pop-out effects. One other cool feature is being able to switch between the Western release version and Japanese release version — the latter allows Sonic to remain temporarily invincible after falling on spikes, among other tweaks.

There's no word yet on an international release, so we should all be pissed off until there is an announcement confirmed that 3D Sonic The Hedgehog is coming to North America. Join me! "Hell no, we want Sonic!"… or something along those lines. Okay, so the chant needs some improvement.

3D Sonic The Hedgehog will cost cost ¥600, approximately $5.90.
