Back in 2011, developer Robit Studios released a freeware game titled Treasure Adventure Game. The 2D action-adventure title was reminiscent of classic games in the genre, and it easily managed to become one of the best indie hits of 2011.
It appears that Treasure Adventure Game is getting a bit of a makeover. Robit has announced that it will be teaming up with Chucklefish to release an HD remake dubbed Treasure Adventure World.
After checking out the trailer, it's obvious that a great deal of work has gone into recreating the world of Treasure Adventure Game. It looks great, the colors are rich, and the character models are different, but that 2D action-adventure spirit seems to be intact, which is great news.
Treasure Adventure World is due out sometime this year, though a specific date hasn't been announced. Additionally, no word on what platforms the game will be available for. As a fan of the original, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on Treasure Adventure World.
