Insomniac will be streaming the development of their first PC game

With an Xbox One exclusive coming down the pipes, but Insomniac Games is exploring yet more uncharted territory with Slow Down, Bull, its first open development project and PC release.

“Slow Down, Bull is a small action game about a stressed out, overachiever bull named Axel,” team lead Lisa Brown said in a post on the Insomniac blog. “He loves collective beautiful things, but has to overcome his innate bull nature to accomplish his goals.”

The game is being made by 4-5 members in Unity and will be Insomniac’s first PC game. The kicker is that the development process will be streamed via Insomniac’s Twitch page every Friday at 2 pm PST (approximately 5 pm EST) in order to allow viewers to comment on and view the game’s progress.

Slow Down, Bull was designed to tap into the independent side of games development which, despite growing to triple-A status, Insomniac still prides itself on. The studio has “been a 100 percent independent game developer for over 20 years now,” and is looking to answer the question “What’s the smallest number of Insomniacs it would take to make a great game?”

For those unable to regularly catch the stream, the footage will be archived, again viewable from Insomniac’s Twitch.
