Games get quiet updates all the time, small little big fixes here and there — mostly tweaks. Every once and a while you get and update that adds a ton of content, for free.
New World Interactive is bringing tons of new content to their first-person shooter Insurgency in the form of a free update.
The content update, named Nightfall, is currently available on Steam and its focus falls in line with its name – the night. Prepare yourself for a slew of night-time operations with some night themed tools to use, night-vision goggles and flare guns. The update also brings a new game mode called Survival. In this game mode you will have to move from safe-house to safe-house with your friends to gain supplies and survive an endless onslaught..
Nightfall also brings a new map – Verticality and the first stage of the new party system's implementation. In the first stage of implementation you will be able to form a lobby and join a server together with party members.
Here's a concise look at what Nightfall includes:
- New night operation maps
- New cooperative game mode: Survival
- New Map: Verticality (features both day and night versions and can be played on a wide variety of game modes)
- Initial implementation of new Party system
- Nightvision goggles and flare guns
- New weapons: M4A1 and AK-74
- Multiple grenade slots
- Weapon attachments affecting weapon length and weapon weight
- Grenade launchers for M4A1 and AK-74
