iPhone surpasses Android in U.S. smartphone sales

Apple iPhones now account for the majority of smartphone sales in the United States, according to new data from market research firm Kantar Worldpanel ComTech.

For a 12 week period ending on November 25th, iOS-based smartphones made up 53.3% of unit sales. Android-powered devices claimed just 41.9%. Year-over-year, Apple has made a 17.5% leap, while Android dropped 10.9 percent.

The iPhone's success in the U.S. hasn't caught on in Europe, though, with Apple only accounting for 25% of sales as compared to the Android's 44% over the same reporting period.

Here at GameZone, we love both products equally. I am the owner of both an iPhone and Android-based device. Which do you prefer?
