Despite the BioShock movie being in pre-production hell, Irrational Games creative director Ken Levine remains optimistic that his brain child will eventually get made into a movie.
"The thing with Gore [Verbinski] didn't work out," Ken Levine told Edge Magazine following former director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo's departure from the film. "But there's no such thing as 'it's finished' when it comes to making a movie out of something."
Last March, Fresnadillo walked out on the project after the studio and the video game company couldn't reach an agreement about the "budget and the rating".
"It's always about the stars aligning," Levine added. "We're still focusing on it, but it hasn't consumed us so much."
Instead, the majority of Levine and Irrational's focus is on the upcoming release of BioShock Infinite due out October 16th.
