Stephen King's 'It' is one of his most popular stories. In 1990, it was adapted into a TV movie which terrified younger audiences at the time but now it is looked back on as cheesy and the only thing that truly stands the test of time is Tim Curry's performance as Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
Since then, 'It' has been readapted into a feature film and it's currently crushing the box office. Just recently, the 2017 version of 'It' surpassed The Exorcist as the highest grossing R-rated horror film of all time. It dominated the box office for most of September, holding off other horror competitors like Darren Arronofsky's 'mother!' and garnered critical acclaim.
With its great success, New Line Entertainment has announced that the sequel teased at the end of the first film will drop on September 6th, 2019 with director Andy Muschietti coming back to helm it. 'It: Chapter 2' will see the members of the Losers Club return to Derry, Maine when Pennywise returns 27 years later. An all-new cast will fill the roles (although it has been confirmed we will see the kids in flashbacks) and many expect it to be filled with big name adult actors but nothing has been made official quite yet.
'It: Chapter 2" will hit theaters on September 6th, 2019.
