John Romero sold his original DOOM 2 floppy disks on eBay

The co-founder of id Software and designer behind Wolfenstein 3D, Dangerous Dave, Hexen, Doom, and Quake, just sold his original DOOM 2 floppies on eBay.

That's right, John Romero has taken to eBay to sell the original copies of the game and is even offering to sign them. The listing started at $10 and, unfortunately, there's no box included:

"These are the originally shipped DOOM 2 floppies (3.5") for PC and compatibles. The version is 1.7 (the first DOOM 2 version). NO BOX included – these are only the 3.5" disks.

"I will sign these disks if you like."

After three days, some DOOM loving game collecting eBay goer has purchased the floppies for $3,150.00 after 83 bits were made, making the items no longer available.
