Following on the heels of Sony's PlayStation Plus announcement, Microsoft has revealed the lineup of free Xbox games coming in Juneas part of the Games with Gold program. Next month, Xbox LIVE Gold members can expect four free games on Xbox One and Xbox 360, though one of them is simply an extension of a game we've already had free for two months prior.
First up for Xbox One is Double Fine Productions' tactical strategy game Massive Chalice. Set in an epic fantasy world, you step into the shoes of the Immortal Ruler, and your goal is to defeat a mysterious enemy known as the Cadence, in a war that will last 300 years. Regularly $19.99, Massive Chalice will be available for the entire month, June 1st through 30th, on Xbox One.
The second free game for Xbox One is Pool Nation FX, which has actually be part of Microsoft's Deals with Gold for the past two months already.
While Xbox One's offerings are a bit disappointing, the Xbox 360 games more than make up for it. We're getting Just Cause 2 ($14.99) and Thief ($29.99).
Just Cause 2, Avalanche Studios' adrenaline-fuelled free-roaming adventure, will be available for free to Xbox LIVE Gold members between June 1st and June 15th on Xbox 360. Following Just Cause 2 will be Eidos-Montréal's first-person stealth-action game Thief.
As a reminder, the switch over to June means you're running out of time to add last month's games to your library, so make sure you download what's left of May's Games with Gold offerings before they are replaced.
