Kid Cudi joins cast of ‘Need for Speed’ film

The film adaptation of the popular Need for Speed racing game franchise just added hip-hop artist Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi to star in the film. Kid Cudi joins Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark in Captain America) and Imogen Poots (hehe, Poots…) in the DreamWorks racing action movie.

DreamWorks said the story has Aaron Paul as a local street racer who, after being framed for the death of a friend, joins a race from New York to Los Angeles to get revenge. Kid Cudi will play a member of the racer's crew. I don't know if writers John and George Gatins know this, but L.A. is a mess when it comes to driving. I don't see how anyone can race on the streets and highways there. Regardless, DreamWorks said the film is aiming for the tone of 1970's car-culture movies.

This won't be Kid Cudi's first time acting, as he recently finished acting in the indie romantic comedy Two Night Stand, and made his acting debut on HBO's How to Make It in America
