The Pokémon fad is far from being over, at least for six-year-olds. The hype around the game franchise is so real, that one kid managed to go on a shopping spree thanks to her sleeping mom's thumb and a fingerprint locked mobile phone.
According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, a six-year-old took her mom's thumb and unlocked her phone and headed straight to the store to go on a $250 shopping spree. It wasn't detailed what type of Pokemon items were purchased, but there was a fair amount of things bought.
Arkansas mother, Bethany Howell, woke up earlier this month to 13 order confirmations for Pokémon-themed items. Of course, Howell believed that she had been hacked, but her daughter Ashlynd fessed up pretty quickly.
“No, Mommy, I was shopping,” Ashlynd explained. “Don’t worry – everything I ordered is coming straight to the house.” Howell managed to return only four of the items, so Howell told Ashlynd that Santa had found out her misdeed and that Santa wouldn't be bringing anything else over for Christmas – just the unreturned Pokémon items.
