Microsoft has renewed the trademark for Killer Instinct, the fighting game originally released on Super Nintendo in 1995. It was then followed by a Game Boy installment and Killer Instinct Gold on NIntendo 64.
Microsoft announced today, "We have either renewed or refiled a trademark application in various jurisdictions.”
Details about the acquisition are vague beyond that. This could mean anything from an HD remake to a new sequel, but given that the announcement was made on PlayXBLA, I'd bet some sort of release for Xbox LIVE Arcade. What are you hoping for?
