Kingdom Hearts 3, Final Fantasy 15 release dates ‘inaccurate’

Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV are not releasing in 2014. The dates listed in a recently leaked Square Enix internal document were merely used as a "placeholder," Square Enix confirmed to us in an email.

"We're aware an internal document has been in circulation listing release dates for select Square Enix titles. This information contained in this document is inaccurate and features placeholder timing," the developer/publisher said.

"Specifically – no announcement has been made to date for Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV – their projected release window remains to be advised.”

Both Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy XV were revealed at E3 2013 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. At the time of its reveal, Kingdom Hearts 3 was described as being very, very early in development — almost as if we weren't getting the game for another two years. Tetsuya Nomura even admitted to showing off the trailer a little prematurely.

Cince then, we've seen multiple teasers and trailers released showing off a bit more progress; however, I still think 2014 is an overly optimistic release window.
