Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is the perfect way to introduce an entirely new crowd to a marvelous franchise. First released on PlayStation 2 all the way back in 2002, Kingdom Hearts quickly became one of my favorite franchises. Now, over 10 years later, it has seen numerous prequel/sequels released on a variety of platforms, making it hard to keep up with.
With Kingdom Hearts 3 on its way, Sony is looking to reintroduce the series to the PS3 generation. And Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is their way of doing so. Coming exclusively to PS3, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is a compilation of Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories (available on Game Boy Advance and then PS2), and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (available on Nintendo DS). Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Re: Chain of Memories are both fully playable and remastered to include gameplay enhancements and trophy supports, while 358/2 Days is a compilation of the original game's cutscenes in a high definition theater mode.
As someone who has only played the original Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 games on PlayStation 2, I'm looking forward to experiencing the stories of the handheld installments. But like I said, if you didn't own a PS2 then this is all new to you; that's why Sony and Square Enix have released an "Introduction to Kingdom Hearts" trailer. In it, you'll be introduced to the game's primary characters and get a feel for the type of adventure you'll soon be going on.
