Details regarding the upcoming Kirby 20th anniversary collection have surfaced in Japan. It turns out the Wii disc will include six Kirby classics, as well as some bonus content to boot. The games set to be featured in the compilation are:
- Kirby's Dream Land (Game Boy)
- Kirby's Adventure (NES)
- Kirby's Dream Land 2 (Game Boy)
- Kirby Super Star (SNES)
- Kirby's Dream Land 3 (SNES)
- Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (Nintendo 64)
Well, that looks like a winning collection of games to me. Kirby's Dream Land stands out because it wasn't just the first game to star the rotund hero, but it's also known to have left out Kirby's popular transformation ability. Additionally, Kirby 64 was memorable because it allowed the pink puffball to combine different powers to form one ultimate attack.
The Kirby compilation will also feature some new mini-games to add to the already stellar bundle of titles. One such mini-game will require players to tackle different stages using a single copy ability. To sweeten the deal even more (at least in Japan thus far), the collection will include an art book, soundtrack, and in-game calendar recapping the Kirby series' history.
To say I'm freakin' excited would be an understatement. I'm stoked beyond belief. Kirby! Yeah!
