Konami puts Hideo Kojima’s name back on Metal Gear Solid games

In the beginning of March, Konami and the Metal Gear series creator, writer and director Hideo Kojima, had a falling out. Kojima was removed from his Executive position in Konami and subsequently had his name removed from anything associated with the Metal Gear series.

It seems as though Konami's anger has abated and is reinstating Hideo Kojima's name back into the Metal Gear branding. While his name has yet to make a return to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, it has appeared to have returned to two other games: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D and Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection.

The Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection's description on Konami's site has been updated to reference the creator where it previously did not:

"From the critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, METAL GEAR SOLID: The Legacy Collection offers the most complete METAL GEAR SOLID experience ever…The 'Metal Gear' series is the seminal work of Hideo Kojima, Japan's master game creator, and the progenitor of the stealth action game genre."

This change was first noted by VideoGamer who managed to snap a couple screenshot comparisons before the sites were inundated with fans looking to see Kojima's return. This turn-around from Konami could be brought on by a couple different things. They could have realized that it was disrespectful to remove Kojima's name from the product he created and given to them or Kojima got lawyers involved and somehow used intellectual property/previous contracts or something to win his name back on to these products.

Either way, it's good to see Kojima get the respect he deserves and have his name back on some of the Metal Gear games.
