Konami’s acclaimed JRPG Suikoden 2 finally available on PSN

Chances are, if you were a super JRPG fan back in the late 90s, you most likely heard of Konami's Suikoden II. It was a fantastic follow-up to the original Suikoden with a much more in-depth storyline, with interesting characters and some awesome battle mechanics.

Fans have been wanting Suikoden on PSN as a PS1 Classic for years now, especially since the first game has been available on the service since 2008.

"We have heard our fans and found the perfect opportunity to bring the game to life again, as part of the PS one Classic collection,” said Tomohiro Uesugi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. “We are sure that players will enjoy this chance to replay, or play for the first time, one of our most beloved titles.”

What's unique about Suikoden II and its predecessor is that its mechanics were quite ahead of its time. Not only are there 108 characters to recruit and fight for your army, but you basically get your own castle as your home base, that grows as your garrison expands. That's pretty awesome.

You can get the game on the PSN store for $9.99
