Los Angeles Dodgers' star outfielder Matt Kemp has revealed his place among the four stars eligible for the cover of MLB 13 The Show. Sony hasn't yet officially made the announcement, but Kemp took to Twitter to get a head start on the voting, which is set to take place on January 7th.
"Humbled to be up for the cover of MLB The Show 2013! Let's get Dodger Blue on the cover!" he said.
Earlier today, I made the argument that Detroit Tigers' 3rd baseman Miguel Cabrera should take the final spot. After all, he did win the Triple Crown and AL MVP award last season. Kemp, on the other hand, finished the season batting .303 with 23 home runs and 69 RBIs. They are hardly superstar numbers, but Kemp did show us some resiliency by continuing to play through the season despite battling injuries.
Kemp joins fellow superstars Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals), C.C. Sabathia (New York Yankees), and Andrew McCutchen (Pittsburgh Pirates) as players eligible for the cover of MLB 13 The Show. Voting begins on January 7th.
Are you happy with the final four or would you have preferred another MLB star in his place?
