Always looking ahead, developer Riot Games has previewed one of the major changes coming in League of Legends patch 5.1.
Looking to streamline the rune experience for new players, Riot is removing all scaling and most secondary Tier 1 and Tier 2 runes from the store, reducing and standardizing prices on the remainder, and removing the Rune Combiner from the client.
"To clarify, these changes aren't part of our long-term plans for the overall rune system," Riot said, adding that they are still working on those. Additionally, these changes shouldn't affect "most" level 30s — they are just a "quick fix focused on making things smoother for new players."
Below is the full list of proposed rune changes for patch 5.1, though it is subject to change between now and the update's release.
