While production on a new female-driven Ghostbusters is full steam ahead, not everyone is quite ready to move on from the original films. LEGO has revealed a brand new Ghostbusters set that'll surely make fans of the original films squeal with delight.
The Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters (set 75827) won't technically be available until January 2016, but LEGO gave us a sneak peek at the massive HQ over on the official Facebook page.
"Get ready to bust some ghosts and recreate iconic Ghostubsters scenes with the 2-story Firehouse Headquarters," the company announced alongside a slew of images of the set.
As you can see, the two-story build is quite impressive, featuring a laboratory, living quarters, containment unit, and more. It also includes 9 minifigures based on the original characters: Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz, Egon Spengler, Winston Zeddemore, Janine Melnitz, Dana Barrett, Louis Tully, Zombie Driver and Library Ghost. Slimer, as well as Pink Ghost and Blue Ghosts, are also included.
This 4,500-plus piece set will cost $349.99, so better start saving.
For those of you who actually get more giddy over another Hollywood rehash, I'm sure LEGO will reveal new sets based on the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon. For now though, let us fans of the original have this before the franchise becomes tainted by Hollywood.
