Life is Strange Episode 2 ‘on track’ for March release

Developer responds to rumors of delay

Responding to rumors that the second episode of Life is Strange has been delayed, developer Dontnod has assured "development is on track" and that they're looking to release it "before the end of March."

Square Enix issued a similar response (via GameSpot), confirming the episode also remains on track:

Dear friends of Life is Strange,

We’ve been asked to clear up the question of when Episode 2 will be released since there have been rumours of a delay. We would like to assure everyone that development is on track and we’re looking to release it before the end of March.

Thanks for all your support so far – we’ve loved reading all your feedback and comments. As a show of gratitude and something to enjoy before the game is available here’s a piece of concept art for Episode 2: Out of Time.

In the past, Dontnod has promised that each episode in the series would launch at six week intervals. Life is Strange's first episode arrived on January 29th, suggesting a March 12th launch for episode two. Of course, the whole "end of March" estimate by Dontnot could still count as a small delay, but I don't think it's as drastic as the rumors made it out to be.

In the meantime, I suggest you embrace this potential delay as extra time to play through Episode 1. If you're on the fence, I suggest you check out our review in which Editor-in-Chief Mike Splechta says, "[Episode 1] Chrysalis is a fantastic setup episode. It doesn't reveal much except for a few tidbits that you know you'll be exploring in later episodes, and hooks you in with the time rewind mechanic and some great atmosphere building."
