Earlier this week, the latest Call of Duty was revealed and even though people weren't thrilled about going into the far future, people still went out and pre-ordered the title.
However, while pre-ordering at retailers like GameStop, Target, and even Amazon players spotted a code for a "future offer". This "future offer" is still yet to be revealed, but the Target reservation card explicitly states that is indeed a beta code.
If that's not enough evidence, Activision Support’s website has confirmed that retailers are in fact giving out a code for a future offer but says more information is coming soon. Here's what they say:
This code is for a future offer. We will email you further details on what this code gives in the near future. Please double check your email address and make sure it is up to date in our system. You can change your preferred email address in your Call of Duty profile.
Last year, Treyarch held an open beta for their CoD game — Black Ops 3, which was formerly revealed at the Sony E3 press conference. Perhaps with E3 rapidly approaching, we could get the official announcement there?
