If only I could program, I'd totally take up CD Projekt RED on this latest job posting. According to the official CD Projekt RED website, the (former) Witcher developer is looking for a "Vehicle Gameplay Programmer" for their upcoming open world Action RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. The details of the job listing offer a small glimpse at what we might expect from the game when it releases….probably a very long time from now.
Here's what the listing states:
- Creating the whole architecture of vehicle-related code and the physics of driving / flying in those vehicles.
- Taking a part in the design process of the gameplay.
- Ensuring that game scripts are well designed, and are optimal in terms of CPU and memory consumption.
There was also a fun little GIF attached to the job posting showcasing a motorcycle. Check it out:
Motorcycles confirmed? Kinda sorta maybe? We'll see. But what looks really exciting is the "physics of driving / flying" wording which would seem to indicate that Cyberpunk 2077 will include some sort of plane/flying car/etc which should enhance and streamline character movement a ton.
We have no idea when we'll be seeing Cyberpunk 2077 on store shelves, much less even hearing a progress update. By all accounts, it sounds like CD Projekt RED will be going dark for a while after stating that the next time we see the game, "it must be f**king great." Considering that the game will be "far bigger" than Wild Hunt, I don't blame them.
