Other than "later this year," Telltale hasn't really given us a date for The Walking Dead's release on Xbox One and PS4. As announced by the company earlier this year, both The Walking Dead: Game of the Year Edition and Season Two will be arriving on "next-gen" (well, now current gen) platforms separately. And thanks to updated product pages on Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy, we now have a better idea when.
According to the retailers' websites, both Season One GotY Edition and Season Two will be released for Xbox One and PS4 on October 14, 2014. Now it's possible these could just be placeholders, but it's worth pointing out that October 14 is a Tuesday which is typically when video games release in the United States. The fact that all three retailers list the same date is pretty significant too.
Of course, Telltale has yet to actually announce a release date, so until they do I recommend treating this as speculation. That being said, I'd also like to point out that I'm never wrong.
