Lord of the Rings Online celebrates 5th anniversary

Lord of the Rings Online was not a major success at first, the high fantasy world struggling to keep pace with the big man on campus: World of Warcraft. However by being one of the first MMOs to pioneer the free-to-play business model, LOTRO and developers Turbine have skyrocketed to success.
Today, Turbine celebrates the 5th anniversary of the award-winning free-to-play MMO, The Lord of the Rings Online, and has released a new developer diary video with members of the Turbine team taking a look back over the past 5 years. The game’s five-year anniversary festival kicked off on April 16th and runs until April 30th during which players will experience a party such as Middle-earth has ever seen! All players will be awarded with new gifts, have the opportunity to take part in new festival events, as well as have the chance to win a trip to Turbine!
Definitely awesome times for LOTRO players. Check out the game's website for information on the giveaway!
