LucasArts has assembled a team for an unannounced project, with former Tomb Raider lead Tim Longo serving as creative director according to GamaSutra.
Longo has prior experience with LucasArts as the lead designer for Star Wars: Starfighter and Jedi Starfighter and creative director for Star Wars: Republic Commando. He has a tremendous amount of experience with the handling of major titles and is once again at the helm of a LucasArts project.
The company is “thrilled to welcome him back to the LucasArts family,” where (before his outings as a director) he served as a playtester for X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. His last pieces of work on the Tomb Raider series can be found in Tomb Raider: Underworld and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Anniversary, though he was previously assisting with development of the upcoming Tomb Raider title.
What do you think he’ll be working on? A new Battlefront? Social media/mobile games? His sudden departure from Crystal Dynamics may leave fans questioning his intentions, but the alternative must have been good to give up on a Tomb Raider reboot.
